How can we help?

How does it work?

Every day at 8am UK time there's one question, the same for everyone. Answer Yes, Not sure or No before 8pm. At 8pm you see how everyone who answered split.

Can I change my answer?

No. Once you've sent it, your answer is final. That keeps the results honest.

It says it couldn't save my answer

Usually the connection dropped, or lots of people are answering at once. The app tries again by itself a few times and keeps the answer you chose. If it still can't, tap Retry when you have a connection. Your answer can't change in the meantime.

I'm not getting reminders

Tap the bell in the app and allow notifications. If it still doesn't work, open your phone's Settings, find One Question (on Android, under Apps), and turn on Notifications. Reminders come when the question opens, later in the day if you haven't answered, and when the results are in. None arrive between 10pm and 7am on your phone.

Are the results a proper poll?

No. They show how the people who chose to answer that day answered, and nothing more. They don't represent the UK, or anyone else.

Do you know who I am?

No. There's no account and no name. Your answers are kept under a scrambled code made from your copy of the app, and everyone else only sees totals. Read the privacy page.

How do I delete my answers?

In the app, go to Settings, then Delete my answers. Results already published don't change, because they're totals.

I got a new phone. Where are my answers?

Your streak and past answers live on your phone, and your answers are kept under a code tied to your copy of the app, so they don't move to a new phone. Your new phone starts afresh; you can answer today's question on it as normal.

Does it cost anything?

No. One Question is free to download and use.

Who makes One Question?

A small team in the UK.
